Kuwait should focus on employment of nationals

by Asma Tariq - 04/19/2009

""

The former MP Abdullah Al-Barghash, also a fifth constituency candidate has requested the government to keep citizen employment as a major priority, among its list of priorities.

He emphasized that it must mandate local private sector employers to recruit Kuwaitis, rather than expatriates.

During a press release, Al-Barghash mentioned that the government must offer practical solutions to the problem, and work on designing the educational programs in a manner so as to ensure that the outcome matches the requirements of the local market.

He also urged the government to report this matter on a quarterly basis, as previously recommended by the parliament. The government should also order private sector establishments to recruit nationals and not reject their recruitment under any circumstances.
